The Department of Agrarian Reform in partnership with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development is spearheading the BALAI Farmers Housing Program. The two agencies shall provide affordable, climate-resilient and decent housing as well as sustainable livelihood for ARBs.

Under the program, DSHUD shall facilitate the installation of housing units in coordination with real estate developers and other partners/stakeholders. For its part, DAR shall primarily focus on the installation of livelihood activities as an integral component of the housing program to ensure agricultural productivity of ARBs, the use of renewable energy and energy efficiency, ecological solid waste management, and sustainable land use.

Description:

Generally, the program aims to mobilize livelihood and farm technology support for ARBs as well as technical support intervention in the implementation of the BALAI housing program.
